It became worse when their father, Mr. Takahashi said, they had to live together. Could they stand living together and handle all the fusses?

Rin slowly opened the door and saw Ryosuke was sleeping silently. She stepped in the room with a tray of an ice pack, a glass of plain water and medicine. The previous tray was on the floor, beside the bed. Slowly, Rin pushed it with her leg. She didn’t want to wake Ryosuke yet. Rin placed the tray that she held at the small white cupboard beside the bed. She looked at Ryosuke sleeping face. He looked calm, like an angel. Unintentionally, Rin touched his cheek and quickly pulled her hand back. His temperature was really hot, hotter than before.

I should give the medicine earlier. Rin sighed and quickly put the ice pack on his head.

Ryosuke awoke when something cold touched his forehead. He was not surprised to see Rin before him. He was waiting for her.

“Yamada-san,” Rin said unconsciously when she noticed that Ryosuke was awoke.

“Please eat the medicine,” Rin said kindly and helped Ryosuke sat up.

Ryosuke just watched Rin took the pill and glass. He loved to be treated that way. He never felt this feeling since he came to this house. This was just the second week of him staying here but he felt lonely without this feeling, a feeling of care from someone.

“The others don’t know that I’m in this condition,” Ryosuke told after eating the medicine.

“I know,” Rin said bluntly, cleaning up the tray on the floor.

“Please don’t let them know,” Ryosuke begged, looking straight at Rin’s eyes. Rin instantly stopped moving when their eyes met. Gradually, her lips created a smile.

“Sure,” Rin said cheerfully and walked out of the room, bringing the trays.

Ryosuke was frozen. It was the first time he saw Rin’s smile. She didn’t look mad anymore. Maybe she had forgotten about it. Ryosuke chuckled. What’s wrong with him? He always saw girl smiling but this one amused him.

Rin was surprised when he look at the elevator screen, blank. The elevator was not functioning.

“Rin, there you are,” Hotaru shouted when she saw Rin was standing at the stairs. However, Rin quickly ran to the kitchen.

“Ri...” Hotaru was about to call her name but she already out of the kitchen and was rushing to the elevator.

Rin was worried that they would ask about the trays and their content but they looked worried about the elevator even more.

“Where’s Jart?” Rin asked Hotaru.

“She is in the control room,” Hotaru answered.

“Where are you? We try to call you but no one picks up the phone,” Hotaru asked. Rin didn’t answer.

It was dark inside the elevator. The emergency light was too dim. Aoki sat at the corner and Kei sat beside, at another corner.

“Hrm... You are Inoo Kei, right?” Aoki said, tried to start the conversation. The situation was too tense, making she felt awkward to say a word. However, if this continued, she would end up dying because of bored in this dark place. Plus, she hated dark. She wanted to stay closer to Kei but she didn’t dare to since she didn’t know Kei that much.

“Don’t be such a hypocrite here. The CCTV can’t record in this darkness. Probably it is not even functioning” Kei answered bluntly, leaning his head on his hand, not looking at Aoki.

“About my behaviour before this, it is because I don’t know you much,” Aoki was not surprised. She had encountered this situation before.

“Really? Now, what do you know about me?” Kei asked, still not looking.

“Your name, age, and which university you are in now also you’re good with piano,” Aoki answered with a smile although she knew Kei couldn’t see it.

“You are a good actor, aren’t you? Receiving three awards for your first act. However, I’m not into it. Doesn’t mean you have money and fame you can blind others with it? Maybe you can but not on me,” Kei answered, sounded angry.

“Have I done something that makes you mad?” Aoki asked kindly, she believed fighting back was not the solution. Plus, she had to get closer to Kei, the darkness could kill her.

“Stop your act please. It annoys me. You have more other time to act especially when you have quitted the school. I know you love acting. It’s your fate to act isn’t it?” Kei said rudely. Everyone had started to look at this girl gently and Kei didn’t understand why. What so special about her? He noticed how Hikaru looked at this big-mouth girl in the party. Yuto and Keito treated her nicely too. Even Kota kept glancing at her. But, why.

“I don’t know why you can’t accept the real truth that I’m not acting. Yes, I’m good in acting. Is that the thing that makes you annoyed? Just say that you jealous because you can’t act.” Aoki lost her patience, slapping the elevator’s floor and held herself, turned away from Kei. She hated it when someone said about she quitted school. She hated it. She didn’t care about the darkness anymore.

“Yeah, I’m not good in acting but at least I continue my study to the university. At least if I fail in this industry I can become something else. Plus, knowledge is lot more valued that those stupid money and fame. I’m not like someone who never attends high school for acting. Such a stupid girl. When you are wrinkled someday, you will be penniless.” Kei answered in anger. He even stood up, showing the level of his anger.

Meanwhile, outside the elevator, everyone was sitting at the stairs, waiting for Rin who was at the phone.

“I has expected it temporary failure power, press the button at the third row, that’s will do it even for a while,” Rin said and flipped the phone.

“Thanks, Hotaru,” Rin said, giving the phone to Hotaru.

“The electric might be flowed slowly, please wait,” Rin told everyone who was sitting there. He looked at Kota. Kairi said once that he is the oldest and act as the big brother of the group, he might know.

“Yabu-kun,” Rin approached Kota. Kota turned to the girl and smiled even in his heart, he was worrying.

“If Kei can get out of the elevator, what will happen?” Rin asked. For Kota she sounded so innocent.

“That can’t happen because tomorrow we have a performance. If one of the members is not available, the situation will become chaos,” Kota explained to Rin like he was explaining to a child, gently, softly and kindly.

“Why?” Rin asked. She wanted to know the detail, the real reason.

“Because we have to change our dance routine, singing part and it can’t be done by tonight or tomorrow,” Kota explained more.

Rin nodded her head and smiled before she turned away, leaning her chin on her knees. She satisfied with the explanation given. Now, she knew why he didn’t want others to know.

“Why we can’t just open the elevator by force?” Hikaru asked, worried. He couldn’t wait any longer. His friend was in there, probably had fainted.

“The elevator is stuck between the floors. Even if we open it by force, there is no guarantee that the two can get out. Plus, this is because of temporary power failure. If it functions back when we have opened the elevator, the percentage of the two get out safely is lower.” Rin explained. Unexpectedly, in the tense situation, applaud was heard. It was Sakura.

“Great Rin, this is what I expected for someone from Harvard.” Sakura said cheerfully. Hotaru quickly smacked her head.

“Ouch,” Sakura complained.

“Can’t you read the situation here?” Hotaru asked, annoyed. Sakura rubbed her head, pouted, not replying.

Suddenly, the elevator sounded. It had functioned.

“To the first floor, it stops there,” Rin said after looking at the arrow in the elevator screen. Everyone started to climb up the stairs after hearing Rin’s words.
