It became worse when their father, Mr. Takahashi said, they had to live together. Could they stand living together and handle all the fusses?

Kairi stepped lazily through the big wooden door and bumped at Hotaru’s back. She instantly looked up and saw Jart was standing before them, serious expression and holding herself. Kairi swallowed.
She could feel discomfort of the environment in the living room.

“Jart, I thought you are dating with Hiroki,” Hotaru spoke bluntly.

“Yes, I did and I’m glad I did,” Jart answered, there was still no change in her expression although her tone was almost emotionless. It was not true. She was not happy at all after meeting Hiroki and she was unhappy before she met him. Somehow, from the beginning she knew that he would bring her to misery. She hoped she never know the truth. Now, it was too late.

“Good, then I off to bed. Good night,” Hotaru said half-hearted and passed through Jart, leaving Kairi behind. She was tired and she had no time for an evening chit chat.

“I’ve to go to sleep too,” Kairi said, smiled awkwardly and started her steps.

“Wait!” Jart almost shouted as Kairi stopped at her second steps while Hotaru quickly turned back.

“Tell me the truth!” Jart revealed her intention.

Hotaru’s eyebrows got closer and Kairi turned her sight away. She really wished the moment won’t happen but it was happening, right now. Jart was one of the last people she wanted to know about the truth. Kairi looked down, not responding to Jart’s demand.

“Truth? About what?” Hotaru asked, puzzled and stepped closer to Jart. Her curiosity made her forgot about her unenergetic body.

“About everything, everything about us,” Jart answered in a very angry tone, holding her fists.

“Us?” Hotaru became more confused.

“Yes, about us are guinea pigs to stupid crazy experiment. That we all are not normal human, far off from the word ‘human’ itself, we most probably are not human at all!” Jart spoke out loud, biting her lower lip and sighed hardly.

“Kairi?” Hotaru asked for explanation which Kairi was not sure about it.

“I don’t understand,” Hotaru continued, demanding for reason.

“Of course, you won’t because you don’t know anything. We all didn’t know everything except now I do, maybe not everything but I know enough...” Jart couldn’t continue her words as her voice become high and uncontrollable.

“I’m sorry but I guess it no use of apologize now. What I fear the most have happened,” Kairi said in unexpectedly calm voice which herself was also shocked.

“Mind if we all be seated?” Kairi continued and took steps towards the sofas and sat on one of them, not waiting for the answer.

Jart who was still in anger refused but after Hotaru sat on the sofa and waiting for her, she forced herself to go with the flow. She sat on the sofa bouncily.

“What Jart said earlier is true? We are all actually cells taken by various people, precisely dead people except for me and Aoki. Aoki is taken by her mother now if it is the right term to use. Mine is taken by the scientists who created this inhuman experiment. The cell is improved as they try to create an ultimate perfect human,” Kairi stopped to take few breaths and gather courage to continue.

“Great! Now, we are clones,” Jart interrupted before Kairi could continue.

“Yes, if that is the right term,” Kairi replied in a low voice.

“May I continue?” Kairi asked formally.

Jart didn’t reply and quickly looked away but Kairi knew she had to continue. Hotaru was still in puzzled. She didn’t decide whether to believe or not yet but she had to listen to the explanation as if it was the truth.

“Actually our mother is one of their experiments but mother is a real human. Our mother became their guinea pig since she was 15 as she was kidnapped by them. Every each of her cells was improved at first but it was not use since her body would create new cells every time. In the end, they implant a machine to create the serum to improve every cell at every moment which has affected her health. Also, she can never have a child of her own.” Kairi stopped again and noticed that there were two pairs of eyes were looking at her intensely, waiting for more. She took another breath.

Everything in the room was white; wall, floor, cabinet, bed even the door. There was only one way in and out. The girl sat on the bed, waiting for her food. She didn’t know how many days she stayed there. She didn’t know why she was there. She didn’t even know where she came from. There was nothing that she knew. All she did now was based on the instruction given by person who entered the room.

The white steel door was opened. She didn’t turn her head. She didn’t have the desire to know who entered the room. She could imagine someone wearing mask, hair cover, glove and robe. All those were in the same colour, blue. Her imagination was right.

The boy entered the room anxiously as it was his first time. When he saw the girl with white cotton robe, he took a deep breath. The instruction given was placing the food and drink on her bed right beside her. Slowly, he placed them as the instruction.

“Thanks,” The girl said. It was the only word she could say and word she like the most. Probably before she lost her memory, she used to say this word a lot and the feeling of loving this word still there.

“No, it’s nothing,” The boy quickly covered his mouth with his gloved hands. Any word with the girl was prohibited. Is there any camera in this room? He wondered. He didn’t want to lose this job as the payment was really high.

The girl turned her head. It was not the first time people spoke to her but the voice was different. She quickly recognized the voice was not the usual guy. She looked directly through his eyes, trying to read his expression.

“New person?” She said, one by one. She looked directly at the person before her.

Hiroshi was surprised when the girl looked at him. His eyes widened. Her eyes were round and dark. He couldn’t say she was beautiful but she was unique enough to be called attractive. Hiroshi took his both hands to his side and nodded his head, replying to the short question. He didn’t want to repeat the same mistake. He better be careful next time. However, he felt pity to the girl. They treated her like animal, just like an experiment specimen. He smiled, hoping it could make her feeling better.

“I don’t ask you how father and mother meet. So please stick to my question,” Jart spoke out in the middle of Kairi’s story. She didn’t care how they meet since she knew that they were not her parents at all, everything was just on paper.

“You say you want to know the truth,” Kairi replied, trying to control her voice. She really hate when people stopped her from telling story.

“The truth? How can I know you are telling the truth? You are after all a story maker, and most probably the thing you tell us tonight is just a story you create on your mind,” Jart argued.

“Then, don’t ever ask me to tell the truth if you don’t believe me. You can go to that guy and ask more. Most probably he will tell the truth,” Kairi was shocked with the words out of her mouth. What she had done? She supposed to be calm and told them one by one. Kairi hold her forehead and sighed.

Jart was surprised. It was not the first time she heard Kairi shouting but this time it was directly for her. Instantly, she felt the uneasiness in her chest.

“You are the one make me don’t trust you,” Jart said in a lower voice than before. She quickly stood up and rushed out of the house.

The sound of the shutting door didn’t interrupt the silent of the living room. Kairi sighed again.
Hotaru was still puzzled. She understood what was happening but her brain didn’t send any impulse for the responds. She sat still there, looking at Kairi who was placing her elbows on her knees while her forehead on her hands.

“I don’t know whether to feel betrayed by you or feel sympathy for you,” Hotaru said after few seconds of thinking.

“But, I think I’ll do the same thing if I were you,” Hotaru ended her sentence and stood up.

“Sleep, tomorrow we have work to do” Hotaru said before she walked away from the living room.

Kairi found she was crying alone. She always knew she didn’t strong enough for all these although Kazuya and mother had confident on her. She always knew she couldn’t carry this burden but she have to. All these were her parents fault or precisely her real self.
